This has not been an easy decision to reach: indeed, the contrary.
I have taken into account various renditions of events in Thailand in the Media,
and am also in receipt of the unanimous Opinion of the Administrative
Oversight Committee, some of whom are based in Thailand, far closer to the
ground than any of us.
I had pause also to reflect upon what the WPC Mission is all about: who we are,
and why we do what we do.
In the light of all of the foregoing, I have decided to support the AOC resolve
refered to above: to push on ahead with the scheduled Plan to hold the Congress
at the Venue, and on the Dates, originally indicated.
As such , we will not be deterred by the swells and ebbs of political strife in
Thailand: and , instead , focus on our Mission: to try and end violence and
war on this Planet , one Congress at a time.
Indeed, ironically, the strife may even be an opportunity for the WPC: to try
and perhaps bring all Parties in Thailand to a constructive dialogue indoors ,
rather than a destructive battle outdoors.
Perhaps this is injudicious – and our host country is set to be engulfed in
Chaos by the time the WPC rolls in: but until such time that there is evidence
of such a complete breakdown of civic peace, we shall keep to our schedule.
Those Panelists who are justifiably nervous are, naturally, free to abstain,
for there will be many more Congresses , in the future, for them to attend.
For all others, I will only say: come join us in yet again raising the moral
standards of the human species this Congress, July of 2010.
Let us all help build a viable, strong, confident Peace Movement that will ,
one day, outlaw War as an abhorrent and intolerable Tool of State Policy on
With all good wishes:
and with special thanks to the gallantry of our Thai Hosts – who continue to
keep faith with the WPC , unfazed by their nation’s unrest,

Just like all of you, we are watching events in Thailand with care. Our Advisors suggest there is a curve to such phenomena; that once such crises peak, they ebb. And we may well be at the peak of things, currently. However, be that as it may: we are set to take a final decision on WPC Dates no later than May 21st.
So, our very next Announcement will be definitive. Thanking you all for your patience,
With warm good wishes,

We are pleased to announce that World Peace Congress 2010 will be held from July 9-11 at the Royal Hills Resort and Spa in Nakhonnayok Province, Thailand.
WPC 2010 is aimed at following through on work done at our previous gatherings: to realize in concrete grassroots projects the resolutions that have been previously passed, and to continue to set up an institutional basis for co-respective and co-operative Peace between Peoples.
The Final Goal remains the universal renunciation of war as a means and ends of Government policy via Amendments to Constitutions globally and by UN Declaration.
We welcome all who share in this Vision to join us in Thailand. Those wishing to participate as PANELISTS may submit their expressions of interest to Tung-Yi at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Those wishing to come as an audience participant should complete and return the Congress Registration Form.
